Let's Talk Fabric

It is a no brainer that clothing is created from fabric, and fabric makes clothing. Unless you live in the stone age or in an uncontacted civilization, fabric is an integral part of your life.

Now, everyone should know about the popular fabric called cotton, and the depressing and awful history of the production of cotton in the United States. With that being said, most people understand the fabric cotton. It is breathable, it is comfortable, it does not irritate the skin, it is easy to put on, and easy to wash. The wearability of cotton is very versatile. T-shirts, dresses, pants, and even shoes are made out of cotton. But let's not forget under garments! Cotton will forever be the staple fabric in undergarments.

Next, spandex, lycra, or elastane are quite possibly my favorite fabrics! The reason why is because they all are very stretchy! If you like the idea of a nice body con dress, and fitted pieces, spandex, lycra, or elastane are the way to go. It provides you with a nice silhouette. tends to keep you warm, and stretches with your body. If you need to bend down, it is highly unlikely that your spandex, lycra, or elastane product will tear.

Lastly, let's briefly discuss satin (weave of fabric) and silk. They are quite similar in how it hangs on the body, but a bit different in how it is constructed. Towards the end of 2019, these two fabrics took off. How so might you ask? Well for instance, the simple slip silk or satin dress was all the buzz on the runways and on the streets. In addition, the simplicity and elegancy of the two fabrics makes it an instant hint. It hangs and falls off the body nicely and can compliment any figure, as long as its sewn correctly!

To conclude, I know there are a multitude of fabrics out there that I have not touched on, and I understand that I have not even gone into detail about each fabric. Don't fret, thats what my instagram is for! Please check daily for more updates, and details regarding fabric!
